WIRE โ Malawi national football team striker Babatunde Adepoju has reportedly signed a short-term contract with Mozambican side Costa do Sol. The striker had been strongly linked with a return to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets following the expiry of his contract with South African side Venda Academy. Sources close to the player confirmed that he was in Maputo to finalise the move. He reportedly had two offers on the table: a six-month deal and a one-year contract, and opted for the shorter option. Babatunde left Bullets at the end of his loan spell in December last year. At the time, Bullets had hoped to extend the loan until February, but Venda declined. Bullets chief executive officer Albert Chigoga said the club was still considering the possibility of re-signing him. "There was no deal between us. He recently returned to Malawi and we hear that he will be going to Mozambique," he said. He initially joined Bullets on a three-year deal in 2021 as a free agent after leaving Mighty Wanderers before moving to Venda in 2023. He later returned to Bullets in 2024 after struggling in the Motsepe Foundation Division, where he scored three goals in 18 matches. In the 2025 season, he scored 19 goals in 35 matches across all competitions. He finished as joint top scorer in the TNM Super League (now FDH Bank Premiership) with 15 goals alongside Chikumbutso Salima. He was involved in 48 Bullets goals in the league last season and added four goals in the FDH Bank Cup. He has scored 97 goals in 122 appearances for Bullets across all competitions
